2San - Road Net Zero

2San is passionate about doing what we can to make positive impacts to the health of both people and planet. Back in 2019 the United Nations launched its Race to Zero campaign – asking businesses, cities, regions, investors and financial and educational institutions to commit to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest.

The UK Government then declared its target to make a 100% reduction in its net UK carbon account by 2050, and last year brought in a public procurement notice - PPN06/21 - to help steer industry toward supporting that commitment. It’s such a positive step change in addressing carbon emissions head on, and we’re excited to announce 2San’s joined the movement.

Internally we’ve made some changes, which are starting to make our difference. We’ve championed hybrid working internally to reduce our travel to work, but being a sociable bunch meeting up in the office is also important to us, so we’ve found fabulous newly refurbished environmentally responsible offices in London for our new headquarters. We’re busy looking forward our official launch to bring the team together.

We’ve also done some excellent work with our partners, manufacturers and customers across the world to minimise emissions through our product supply and logistics journeys. We’ve made some clever adjustments to packaging and palletisation sizes and that’s enabled us to move more in one go, while taking up less space.

Finally, but perhaps most importantly, we’ve just published our first UK carbon emission baseline and made our net zero commitment on our website. We’re committed to becoming a carbon neutral business by 2045. That’s five years sooner than the UN’s 2050 deadline because we believe it’s urgent and want to take a responsible lead. This is a fantastic lever the UK is using to get carbon reduction done, and 2San is heavily invested in this initiative.
