Unit 11 Carnforth Business Park,The O2 Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the centre in southeast London. It has the second-highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the UK. The O2, which is owned and operated by AEG Europe, recently announced a series of new measures to become more sustainable.
We took part in a study at the O2 Arena where our Chemical Free Cleaning System was compared with existing cleaning products in the venue’s daily cleaning tasks.
A Clean Zero 80 cabinet – a static floor standing cabinet with an 80 litre self-replenishing storage tank – was installed on-site. At the time of installation, four different areas were chosen to enable the performance of Clean Zero to be monitored on a regular basis by Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP) testing.
A significant improvement in the cleanliness levels (reduction on ATP readings) were recorded over this trial period. As well as increasing cleanliness levels, the implementation enabled the removal of four cleaning products: Stainless Steel Cleaner, Glass/Mirror Cleaner, General Multi- Purpose Cleaner and a Disinfectant Cleaner. As these products have not had to be re-ordered, it has enabled large cost savings.
Due to the decrease in the number of chemical products used, the time spent training agency staff was also reduced significantly.
Overall Clean Zero provided increased levels of cleanliness, reduced training time and significantly cut chemical costs. Since the trial, Clean Zero has been used as the Arena’s sole cleaning product for most daily cleaning tasks.
