Ramsay Health Care is Australia’s largest private hospital operator. With 72 hospitals and day surgery units, Ramsay Health Care Australia admits more than 1.1 million patients annually and conducts over half a million procedures each year. It employs more than 31,000 people.

When a major surgical supplier, contracted to the hospital chain, developed supply issues, it meant that surgeries might have had to cease until critical surgical consumables could be sourced. This was particularly challenging at a time of rising global demand for surgery.

We were approached to source and supply alternative options from our global network. We secured stock, submitted samples for clinical validation and system compatibility trials and expediated freight to beat deadlines. Products were offered to all hospitals and purchasing systems were integrated at all sites.

In total we successfully supplied 67 of the 72 hospitals operated by the group with the alternative products. This meant that no hospitals had to postpone or cancel surgeries. We have since secured a partnership to supply a large range of healthcare products to the group.

As an approved vendor to Ramsey Healthcare, we were also able to supply Rapid Antigen Test kits in large volumes to keep its 76 hospitals open and staff and patients safe. These were supplied in both self-test and point of care configurations, with prompt initial supply followed by regular allocations.
